Communications Associate


Marathon Strategies’ communications practice provides high profile political, nonprofit and corporate clients with strategic counsel on how to build, manage and protect their reputation to support their business objectives.

Reporting to the (S)VP of Communications, the Communications Associate is responsible for supporting strategic communications programs on behalf of clients across a variety of different industries.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Client Management 
    • Implements strategic communication initiatives and programs
    • Helps develop a wide-range of communication materials such as memos, strategies, PowerPoint presentations, press releases, talking points, opinion editorials and speeches
    • Inputs into client work plans
  • Team Management
    • Creates a climate which inspires team members to exceed expectations
  • New Business Development
    • Contributes to new business proposals and presentations


  • Graduate – 3 years’ experience in communications role in an in-house or consultancy environment
  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Developed or emerging business acumen
  • Creative, energetic, detail-oriented and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Seniority level
