Katie Clark

Head of Crisis

Katie Clark has spent more than 30 years guiding organizations in protecting and elevating their brands. A trusted advisor to C-suite executives, board members, and senior leaders she provides strategic counsel during pivotal moments – navigating complex challenges and safeguarding reputation, operations and business.  As the Head of Crisis for Marathon Strategies, she mitigates and manages reputation risk for companies through crisis preparedness, issues management, crisis response and reputation recovery. She has advised municipal and state governments, Fortune 500 companies, and leading companies in food and beverage, transportation, healthcare, financial services, technology, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, mining & energy and real estate.  

Before joining Marathon Strategies, Katie founded her own consultancy and worked for more than two decades at a global communication firm, where she held many leadership roles in the firm’s U.S. Crisis & Reputation Risk practice, South region, Canadian operations and global crisis network. She most recently served as an executive vice president and head of the firm’s U.S. Data Security and Privacy Group advising on preparedness and response for cybersecurity incidents.  

Katie’s experience encompasses a wide range of issues, crises and special situations involving health and safety, workplace, litigation communications, corporate transactions, cybersecurity and data incidents, corporate malfeasance, regulatory investigations, closures and reductions in force, environmental issues, product recalls and sourcing issues.  

Katie is originally from Canada, and is now based in Atlanta, GA where she serves clients across the U.S. and globe. She is a frequent speaker on crisis and crisis preparedness, managing reputation risk, and cybersecurity.
