Gian Defilippis
Communications Associate
Gian DeFilippis is a Senior Communications Associate based in Marathon’s New York Office. At Marathon, Gian leads clients through complex communications and public affairs strategies, seamlessly managing sensitive issues and crafting compelling narratives to breakthrough the New York media landscape. His clients have included those in the advocacy, freighting/logistics, manufacturing, real estate, and gaming industries.
Prior to joining Marathon, Gian served as the Finance Director for Congressman Mondaire Jones, as well as the Executive Director for the Congressman’s Leadership PAC. In that role, he oversaw the Congressman’s daily fundraising operations and executed the campaign’s external communications program, raising nearly $4M and communicating with hundreds of thousands of donors.
He has organized national fundraising events with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Secretary Hillary Clinton, and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Gian’s work includes collaborating on a Reed-award winning digital voter targeting program and a fellowship to study AI policy with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) at the United Nations Offices at Geneva.
Gian is a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in Political Science.
