Jen Hayen
Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications
Jen is a Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Marathon Strategies, where she advises clients across industries on corporate communications, reputational risk, public affairs, and crisis and issues management, both in New York and nationally.
In this role, Jen provides strategic counsel to executives and organizations navigating complex, high-visibility issues. She leads communications programs that help organizations strengthen trust where it matters most and align goals with business objectives to drive results.
Before joining Marathon, Jen served as the Head of Communications for the Long Island Power Authority, one of the largest public power utilities in the United States. There she led enterprise-wide strategic and integrated communications and brand strategy, helping to strengthen stakeholder trust and raise the organization’s public profile.
She also served as Communications Advisor to the Large Public Power Council, representing the nation’s largest public power systems, supporting message positioning and engagement with policymakers and media in Washington, D.C.
Jen began her career in government, serving in the New York State Senate, including as Director of Communications for the 4th Senate District on Long Island, New York.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Master of Science from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
In addition to her professional work, Jen sits on the Long Island Chapter Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Greater New York region. She resides on Long Island with her husband and two children.
