Karen Oliver is a Senior Vice President in Marathon’s Washington, D.C., office. She is a seasoned public affairs and communications executive with a proven record of shaping high-impact corporate communications, issues advocacy, coalition management, and integrated marketing campaigns that deliver measurable results. She has led large, cross-functional teams on public education and outreach initiatives for the Internal Revenue Service, as well as national consumer education, media relations, and stakeholder engagement campaigns for organizations ranging from Beer Drinkers of America to the United Way.  

Karen’s diverse portfolio spans major corporations, technology leaders, coalitions and trade associations, and nonprofit organizations. She has supported corporate communications for Booz Allen Hamilton and Mass General Brigham and led the launch campaign for the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, driving awareness of the facility, building community engagement, and increasing patient acquisition.  

She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from the University of Florida, where she also served on the Public Relations Advisory Council, and pursued graduate studies at George Washington University. In 2012, PR News honored her as Public Affairs Professional of the Year.
